Today’s schooling is based on sitting a classroom and learning then being tested on that knowledge. It is hard to say technology should be used in this way because everyone learns differently. In my opinion I think that we should use technology a lot more. Instead of hand writing notes I think that students should be encouraged to type notes because of how technology is growing so much. We have to reinforce our skills and since school is to learn why not learn a skill that we will need in the future. Nick Carr said that the internet is making us stupid but that is ridiculous to say. How can you say that the greatest source is bad for people? To say that it makes people have shorter attention spans is completely based on the person. Personally I would rather read off of an internet source because books seem very intimidating to me. You see a four hundred page book and instantly you think that’s going to be very hard to read. Also I think that we should utilize e-readers in to everyday use. Why waste paper when you can just have the same book on a little e-reader. Also we can save trees because a thousand page book can just be downloaded instead of printed. My final point is that it will greatly bring the costs down. They will still charge an absurd rate but it will have to be cheaper because no paper or ink will be used.
